Pirates Report: March 26

YANKEES 4, PIRATES 2:

Andrew McCutchen went 3-for-3, and Jose Tabata went 2-for-4 with a walk, triple and run scored in the Pittsburgh Pirates' 4-2 loss to the New York Yankees on Saturday in Tampa.

Kevin Correia, Opening Day starter for the Pirates (10-19), allowed five hits and three earned runs in six innings.

Alex Rodriguez homered for the Yankees (12-14-3), his sixth of the spring.

James McDonald allowed one earned runs in three innings of work against the Yankees’ Triple-A team in Tampa.

UP NEXT (MARCH 27):

The Pirates host the Tampa Bay Rays at 1:05 p.m. Sunday in the final home game of the spring at McKechnie Field. Paul Maholm is expected to start for Pittsburgh
against Tampa Bay’s David Price. Evan Meek and Joel Hanrahan are also scheduled to pitch for the Pirates.

It will be USF Sarasota-Manatee Day at McKechnie, with the being recognized before the game.
