PIRATES 4, PHILLIES 3:
Neil Walker's two-run shot in the sixth inning was the difference at the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 before a crowd of 9,318 at Bright House Networks Field in Clearwater.
Lyle Overbay went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Pirates (5-4). Starter Paul Maholm allowed four hits and one earned run in three innings of work, and Jeff Karstens picked up the win in relief.

Roy Halladay pitched three scoreless innings for the Phillies, who lost prized outfield prospect Domonic Brown to a fractured right hand.
Ben Francisco hit a solo home run for Philadelphia (4-4).

Earlier in the day the Pirates reassigned Donnie Veal, Cesar Valdez and former Bradneton Marauders Tony Sanchez and Eric Fryer to minor league camp, leaving 58 players in the big league camp.
UP NEXT (MARCH 6):
The Pirates return home Sunday for a 1:05 p.m. game against the Toronto Blue Jays, where a portion of the proceeds . Also, before the game fans are invited to attend on Ninth Street West outside McKechnie Field. Pirates players, coaches and legends will be signing autographs and there will be games and activities for kids.
Pittsburgh will remain in Bradenton for a Monday afternoon game against the Tampa Bay Rays, who are expected to start ace David Price.
