Runoff Elections Have Run Their Course
Bradenton voters eliminated runoff elections by voting to change the city charter.

Elections for Mayor and City Council in Bradenton just got simpler.
Bradenton voters decided Tuesday to do away with runoff elections.
That means in races with more than two candidates, where there is no majority decision, the candidate with the most votes wins. The candidate does not have to have 50 percent of the vote to be declared the winner.
