SCF Bradenton Symphony Orchestra to Present Classic Concert

The State College of Florida Bradenton Symphony Orchestra will present "It's So Classic," featuring composers from the classical era.

The State College of Florida Bradenton Symphony Orchestra will present “It’s So Classic,” a concert featuring composers from the classical era of music, considered to be 1750 to 1825.

The concert, set for 8 p.m. Feb. 24 at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th St. W., will open with Mozart’s overture to the opera “Cosi fan tutte.”

Aaron Romm, SCF’s trumpet instructor, will be the featured performer for Johann Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto. The concert will conclude with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1, which premiered in 1800 in Vienna. Beethoven, known as the all-time best composer of symphonies, gives a nod to his predecessors with this one, his first, while showcasing his own distinct style.
