SCF Brain Bowl Team Takes Third in State Tournament

The SCF Brain Bowl team Firebird took third place in the Florida College System Activities Association state tournament March 30.

The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Brain Bowl team Firebird took third place in the Florida
College System Activities Association (FCSAA) state tournament March 30 in Panama City.

SCF’s three-person team of David Espinal (captain), Lacey Anderson and SCF Collegiate School student Damien Bobrek had a 6-3 record, demonstrating in-depth knowledge in the fields of math, science, arts and humanities, and social and behavioral sciences. Bobrek ranked fifth in individual scoring.

The team of Espinal, Anderson and Nathanael Havlik will compete against four-year schools at the Intercollegiate College Championship on April 8.
