SCF Film Students Win Award at Sarasota Film Festival

Two SCF digital cinema students brought home the Best Cinematography award for "Film at 11" from the Sarasota Film Festival.

Two digital cinema students from State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) brought home the Best Cinematography award for "Film at 11" at the Sarasota Film Festival’s 20 Hour Film Competition last month. The award was announced on April 22.

The contest, which ran from April 13 to 15, required participants to create a five-minute short film based on randomly assigned themes and a common given element of "sunscreen." Immediately after being assigned topics participants had 20 hours to film and 20 hours to edit.

Connor Dahlman and Kim Galway, both enrolled in the Associate in Science in digital cinema program at SCF, were assigned the topic of science fact using the overarching theme of sunscreen.
