SCF, Manatee-Sarasota to Offer Online GED Prep Classes
SCF will offer 6-week online courses to help students prepare for taking the exam to earn a General Education Diploma (GED).

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will offer 6-week online courses to help students prepare for taking the exam to earn a General Education Diploma (GED). Each course costs $100, is self-paced and includes 24 hours of instruction. The courses will be offered monthly beginning Aug. 16.
GED preparation covers the basics to succeed on the GED test’s four modules: mathematical reasoning; reasoning through language arts; science; and social studies. Before taking the general preparation course, students should be able to do basic math operations, such as fractions and decimals, without a calculator.
Students who need help with basic math may opt for the GED Math Preparation course where they will learn what they need to know to pass the mathematical reasoning module. The course begins building the foundation needed to understand percentages, proportions, statistics, algebra and geometry.
