SCF, Manatee-Sarasota to Offer Personal Trainer Certification Courses

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will offer two personal trainer certification courses on its Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch campuses.

The classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays from Jan. 28 through April 1 at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays from April 1 through June 3 at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway E. The fee for the course, offered in partnership with World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.), is $749, not including the required textbook.

The 32-hour program features 16 hours of classroom time and 16 hours of hands-on training at a nearby fitness center. Participants who complete the course at either of the campuses can earn a Level 2 Personal Trainer Certificate and begin work immediately after passing the exam. Program internships also are available.
