SCF Manatees Softball Player Jessica Harney Named NJCAA Player of the Week
Jessica Harney, a sophomore who plays first base for SCF's softball team, has been named the NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week.

Jessica Harney, a sophomore who plays first base for the softball team at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 8 Softball Player of the Week. The honor was for her play during the week ending March 12.
Harney batted .632 (12-for-19) with nine runs scored, six doubles, two home runs and 12 RBIs in six games during the voting period, helping the SCF Manatees to a 5-1 record that week. In addition, she scored a run in each game and hit safely in five of six games. Harney hit a home run and drove in three runs in the first game of a doubleheader against St. Petersburg College, and was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs in a game against South Florida State. Finally, she was a perfect 7-for-7 with four runs scored, four doubles, one grand slam home run and seven RBIs in a doubleheader against El Paso.
Watch Harney and the rest of the Manatees play at home against South Florida State College at 4 and 6 p.m. March 30. They will play Hillsborough Community College at home at 4 and 6 p.m. April 4, and Polk State College at 1 and 3 p.m. April 6. For information, visit SCFManatees.com.
