SCF Names Scott Parke Vice President of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has named Scott Parke its new Vice President of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness. Parke, whose position is focused on student success, will lead information technology services, research analysis and institutional planning and effectiveness at SCF.

“SCF is recognized as a high performing college and has an impressive track record for delivering quality programs and services,” Parke said. “I look forward to partnering with colleagues to help provide the information that directly bolsters student success.”

Parke serves as SCF’s Accreditation Officer and leads related College institutional effectiveness and continuous improvement initiatives to make sure SCF is meeting the needs of students and providing the most cutting-edge programs and information. His experience will help advance SCF’s data-driven culture with analysis that documents student success, college performance and effectiveness, and reinforces
evidence-based decision making. His department also provides resource data for short- and long-term planning initiatives and for policy development, and conducts studies to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of academic and administrative programs.

Parke came to SCF from Collin College in Texas, where he was the vice president of policy and planning. He previously worked as the associate vice chancellor for research and analytics at the Florida Department of Education from 2012 to 2015.
While working in Tallahassee, Parke helped design the strategic plan for the Florida College System. Before moving to Florida in 2012, Parke served as the senior director for research and policy studies for the Illinois Community College Board.

He completed his doctor of philosophy degree in educational administration at Illinois State University in Normal, Ill. He holds a master of science in education in educational administration and supervision, and a bachelor of arts in English from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill.
