SCF’s Spring 2026 Honors Convocation Awards Students for Academic Dedication

SCF presented awards and scholarships to undergraduate students for their exceptional drive and initiative during its Honors Convocation.

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) presented awards and scholarships to undergraduate students for their exceptional drive and initiative during its Spring 2026 Honors Convocation ceremonies on May 1 at SCF Venice and SCF Bradenton.

The events featured departmental honors, academic team recognition and the presentation of awards and scholarships for outstanding academic performance, Future Business Leaders of America club officers, American Mock Trial Association competitors, community-sponsored awards/scholarships and more. Maria Spelleri, professor, language and literature, SCF, and Colleen Paige, professor, language and literature, SCF, served as master of ceremonies. Patricia Rand, vice president, academic affairs, SCF, presided over the charge to honorees.

Tommy Gregory, J.D., president, SCF, delivered the welcome remarks and presented the SCF Image Award. This award recognizes students who overcome significant challenges and exemplify personal perseverance, academic achievements and the college’s values. The winners were:

Jaquelyn McNeil, dean of students, SCF, presented the Wayne Gulbrandsen Academic Scholarship for Single Parents award. The winners were:

Proud of all the honorees and their accomplishments, McNeil shared, “The hard work, passion, and commitment of these honorees have carried them to this moment. It’s inspiring to see the difference they’ve made inside and outside the classroom.”
