SCF Venice to Host Reggie Young for Poetry Reading

SCF will host author Reggie Young as he reads from his book "Yardbirds Squawking at the Moon and Other Poems."

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host author Reggie Young as he reads from his book “Yardbirds Squawking at the Moon and Other Poems.” The reading will be held at 2 p.m. March 29 in the Selby Room at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. It is free and open to the public.

Young is the writer-in-residence at New College of Florida. He has served as professor of creative writing and American literature at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette and has held faculty positions at Villanova University and Wheaton College. His poems stories and non-fiction work have appeared in a variety of publications including “Oxford American,” “Louisiana Literature” and “African American Review.”
