Search Continues for 16-Year-Old's Killer

The teen was killed Saturday evening.

A 16-year-old Bradenton boy is dead following a Saturday night shooting on 12th Avenue West.

The incident unfolded around 11:12 p.m. when Bradenton Police Officers went to the 700 block of 12th Avenue West after hearing gunshots in the area. When police arrived, they found Zory Jenkins lying dead next to the roadway from a gunshot wound.

Information in the case has been slow to come in, police report. So far, no witnesses have come forward to help police determine who is responsible for killing the teen, who lived in the 1600 block of 14th Avenue East.

Det. James Curulla is asking anyone with information about the case to contact him at 941-747-3011, Ext. 2224. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-866-634-8477 (TIPS) or by sending a tip via the web at www.manateecrimestoppers.com.

Police say this is the third homicide to occur within the Bradenton city limits in 2014.
