Skyway Fishing Pier Shooting Victim Identified, Reward Offered: MCSO

A $5,000 reward is offered for information about Friday's fatal shooting near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge's south fishing pier, MSCO said.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Detectives identified the victim of Friday’s fatal shooting near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge’s south fishing pier.

Diomicio Primitivo Ibarra-Hernandez, 26, was found dead after multiple shots were fired into his vehicle, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Witnesses heard several gunshots at the pier and saw a vehicle drive away around 5:15 p.m., MCSO said.

Detectives are following several leads and looking for unknown suspects who sped away from the area. For investigative reasons, the agency said it won’t release any other details about the suspect’s vehicle at this time.

Investigators believe this was a targeted attack and not a random shooting.

As the investigation continues, the Gold Star Club of Manatee County is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
