BRADENTON, FL — A man faces life in prison in the double murder of his mother and her boyfriend at their Bradenton home earlier this month, according to a news release from State Attorney Ed Brodsky’s Office.

Thomas James Matejcek was indicted for two counts of first-degree murder. The crimes carry a maximum possible sentence of life in prison.

Matejcek went to the home of his 62-year-old mother, Patricia Matejcek, at 219 55th Ave. Ter. W. in the Arbor Terrace RV Park on Nov. 10 to confront her and her boyfriend.

He killed both his mother and Sean Harrison, 55, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release at the time.

A concerned neighbor called 911 after hearing “troubling noises” coming from the home, the state attorney’s office said.

Matejcek was eventually taken into custody and arrested on two counts of murder after law enforcement found his mother and Harrison murdered inside the home.
