‘Years Of Abuse’: Family Of Bradenton Homicide Victim Speaks Out
A man faces two counts of second-degree murder after killing his mother, her boyfriend at their Bradenton mobile home, deputies said.

BRADENTON, FL — The family of Patricia Matejcek, who was killed at the hands of her son, Thomas Matejcek, Friday, said the woman faced “years of physical, mental and emotional abuse” from him “with no help from the courts to stop (him),” according to a GoFundMe fundraiser organized by her sister, Krista Kale.
As of Monday afternoon, $270 of the $10,000 goal had been raised. The money will be used to “lay (her) to rest and ease the burden on the family,” according to the fundraiser.
The 62-year-old mother’s boyfriend, Sean Harrison, 55, was also killed by her son.

The sheriff’s office didn’t share details about how his mother and Harrison were killed or a possible motive for their murder.
Deputies arrived at the Arbor Terrace RV Park in the 200 block of 55th Avenue Terrace West just after noon in response to reports of a disturbance at their home and a woman crying out for help.
They found the two victims dead on the floor of the home and saw a man, later identified as Thomas Matejcek, running away, the sheriff’s office said.
Within minutes, deputies found him along 14th Street West and took him into custody.
“Numerous attempts were made (in the past) to beg for her safety to be met with incompetence, ignorance and injustice,” according to the GoFundMe. “Our beautiful sister feared and begged for her life only to be told, ‘Sorry.’ Now we are faced with granting her last wishes too soon due to the incompetence of our judicial system.”
