Home Burglary Suspect Sought In Manatee County Break-Ins: Sheriff
Deputies are looking for the suspect in a series of home burglaries in Sarasota and Bradenton Wednesday, the Manatee County sheriff said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Deputies are searching for a suspect in a series of home burglaries in Manatee County.
An unknown suspect broke into several homes in Sarasota and Bradenton Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 1:40 p.m., according to a news release from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The homes were located in the 4100 block of 72nd Avenue E., the 5400 block of Palm Aire Drive and the 6700 block of Cheswick Street in Sarasota, as well as the 1400 block of Millbrook Circle in Bradenton.

The suspect broke into the homes by kicking or prying the front doors open, the sheriff’s office said. They rummaged through the homes and in one incident, valuable items were taken.
All the homes broken into had a hidden alcove and the suspect closed the door before leaving.

One of the victims was at home during the burglary, which startled the suspect, who left the home and the area.
In that incident, the suspect is described as a man with a thin build wearing a black mask covering his face and a long-sleeve green shirt, the sheriff’s office said. He drove away in a dark-colored SUV, believed to be a Jeep Liberty, that possibly had worn-out springs and front-end parts.
