Teen Made Instagram Bomb Threat At Bradenton Middle School: Police
A 14-year-old faces a felony charge for threatening to bring a bomb to Sugg Middle School, kill two school employees, Bradenton police said.
BRADENTON, FL — A 14-year-old Sugg Middle School student faces charges after threatening to bring a bomb to school and kill two school employees, according to a Bradenton Police Department news release.
The unnamed student made the threat Monday night in an Instagram video chat, which was seen by multiple students. The threats were reported to police around 11:30 p.m.
The teen and his parents were contacted at their home over night, police said. He admitted to making the threat and said it was a joke.

“However, such threats are taken seriously and as a result, the 14-year-old has been charged with making a false report concerning planting a bomb, an explosive, or a weapon of mass destruction, or concerning the use of firearms in a violent manner (F.S.S. 790.163), a second-degree felony,” the agency said.
Extra officers were at Sugg Middle School on Tuesday, in addition to the school resource officer regularly assigned to the school.
