(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - For the first time in Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) history, representatives from the school’s band, orchestra, and choir programs are all participating in the Florida Music Education Association (FMEA) All-State Ensembles.
“It's exciting that we all have a student in there. We’ve been rebuilding our programs since Covid. The progress shows,” said LRHS Orchestra Director Thomas Durante.

Alcorn said, “It feels pretty good. I'm excited about this opportunity to expand musically and play with players from, around the state.”

- Choir - Ellary Punzo (Soprano)
“I’ve been wanting to do All-State for a while, but I was scared to. I’m glad I pushed myself to get out of my comfort zone and it made me realize I’m a much better musician than I thought I was,” said Punzo
LRHS Choir Director Rebekah Lester said, “Ellary has worked super hard and completed three rigorous auditions. Not very many Manatee County students auditioned, it's hard to get accepted. I am extremely proud of her and all her hard work. She deserved and earned her spot.”
LRHS Band Director John Wilkerson said all three are a great reflection on the LRHS music programs.
“Virginia is a hard worker and great musician. I am very proud of her and all she represents in the Bands of Lakewood Ranch as an inspirational leader.
"Congratulations to all three members of the LRHS Music Department for a huge honor to perform with some of the best musicians in the state.”
