Tickets Available for SCF Foundation’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon

The State College of Florida Foundation will host its annual Scholarship Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 8 at Michael's On East.

The State College of Florida Foundation will host its annual Scholarship Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 8 at Michael’s On East, 1212 S. East Ave., Sarasota. Individual tickets are $40 with tables of eight available for
$300. Guests will be seated with SCF student scholarship recipients and donors. The event also will include a silent auction.

This year’s theme spotlights SCF’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) programs. A video presentation will feature Class of 2016 STEAM graduates Ella Starr and Kyle Stone sharing how SCF prepared them to continue their education and how Foundation scholarships helped them achieve their goals. Shay Atluru, president and CEO of DTC Engineering also will discuss why he chose to set up the DTC Engineering Opportunity Scholarship through the Foundation. SCF President Dr. Carol Probstfeld will give an update on the future of higher education in SCF’s service area.

“The Scholarship Luncheon is the perfect time to learn how contributions to the Foundation affect SCF student recipients and why donors choose SCF as their charitable partner,” said Foundation Executive Director Cassandra Holmes. “Students tell us that $500 has a huge impact on their ability to attend
college. Proceeds from the luncheon and silent auction will enable the Foundation to continue providing this much-needed support.”
