Two Charged With Using Garage Door Openers to Enter Homes
Sheriff's office says Angel Welborn, 18, and Michael Forbes, 20, were entering unlocked cars in West Bradenton neighborhood.
Two men were arrested Tuesday on charges they were breaking into cars and using garage door openers to enter two homes in a West Bradenton neighborhood, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported.
Angel Welborn, 18, and Michael Forbes, 20, were allegedly entering unlocked cars in the 5300 block of 53rd Avenue West in the Glenn Lakes subdivision, according to a news release. They were each charged with 12 counts of buglary or theft.
Deputies apprehended the suspects following a brief pursuit on foot. During the chase the men threw a BB gun and a glove, according to the release.

"The property belonging to a majority of the victims was recovered along the path the pair fled," the release states.
The sheriff's office said there has been a recent rash of vehicle burglaries in the area.

"It is very important that citizens secure their valuables and lock their vehicles as this was a preventable crime," the release stated.
The Bradenton Police Department issued a Tuesday, asking residents to lock their car doors.
