McCarthy said, “my success is due in part to the unconditional love and support of my family, colleagues, and students. Without these amazing people, my job would be much harder. For instance, because my students trust me, they begin to find value in what I teach and try hard EACH day, understanding that excellence exceeds mediocracy and to always go above and beyond in all facets of their life. Because when one strives to be better, everyone succeeds.”

Finck said, “I am fortunate to teach a topic that is real-life relevant, Financial Literacy/Financial Math. Having the background as a financial advisor gives me the experience that is needed to present the actual impacts of the topics that I teach.”

McCarthy added, “The best part about the award is being acknowledged for my efforts, especially when so many deserving and talented professionals never did or ever will get recognized for their achievements. And with that knowledge alone, I am over the moon to be the recipient of this prestigious award and would like to share it with them, along with my family, colleagues, and students.”

Finck added “Being recognized for something that I love is an honor. I really did not realize what an honor it was until I was at the ceremony and listened to the stories of the other recipients- what an amazing group of people!”
