(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Mustangs are saying “good bye” to Assistant Principal Jeannie Galindo, who retires at the end of the school year.

“I was a teacher at Bayshore High School for 18 years. I was an Assistant Principal at Bayshore High School for six years. I was the supervisor of instructional technology for the district for three years.
I've been an assistant principal at Lakewood Ranch for eight years.”

Galindo has many plans for retirement, she said she is excited for “visiting a Wawa for the very first time, learning how to make a homemade buttermilk biscuit, and not having a schedule for the first time.”

One important lesson that Galindo would like to pass on is “that kindness is more important than ‘right-ness’ and that in the greater scheme of things, what we do in education is important.”
Galindo hopes that she is remembered as the teacher that made a difference.
“I will miss the people the most. All I've ever wanted from this career was to make a difference. I'll miss seeing how much students change between freshman and senor year. I'll miss helping new teachers find their stride. I'll miss just about everything except lunch duty.”
