Veterans Day 2022: What’s Open, Closed In Manatee County

Check out what's open and closed on the Veterans Day holiday in Manatee County.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — To honor Friday, Nov. 11, as Veterans Day, various Manatee County government offices will be closed, programs rescheduled and services paused, including the following:

  • All Manatee County government offices are closed Friday
  • Manatee County libraries will be closed Friday. Normal library hours will resume on Saturday.
  • Manatee County Area Transit, the Anna Maria Island Trolley and the Longboat Key Shuttle and regular weekday Handy Bus will operate as normal. However, customer service booths at the downtown Bradenton and Desoto Transit stations will be closed.
  • GT Bray Fitness Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. GT Bray pool will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lap swim; Lincoln Aquatic Center will be open noon to 4 p.m. (main swimming pool only). John Marble Pool will be closed.
  • The schedule for trash, recycling and yard waste collections for this week shifted due to Tropical Storm Nicole. Thursday’s regular collection will be picked up on Friday and Friday’s regular collection will be picked up on Saturday.
  • The Manatee County Clerk’s office will be closed Friday.
  • Manatee County Animal Welfare’s three facilities – Bishop Animal Shelter, Palmetto Adoption Center and Cat Town Adoption Center – will be closed Friday.
  • Manatee County Schools will be closed Friday.
  • Lena Road Landfill will be open Friday.
  • Manatee County storm debris removal will resume Friday.
  • The Florida Department of Health will be closed Friday.
  • County parks and beaches will be open Friday.
  • Bradenton City Hall will be closed Friday.
  • Bradenton city solid waste collections will be delayed by a day. Thursday’s routes will be picked up Friday and Friday’s routes will be picked up Saturday.
