BRADENTON, FL — Officers helping the fire department at the scene of a shed fire earlier this week were surprised when they were confronted by a wandering emu, the Bradenton Police Department shared on its Facebook page.

While the lost bird wasn’t a flight risk, the officers kept an eye on it until its owners arrived.

When the owners got to the scene, police put the oversized bird in the cage of their cruiser and brought it home.
