The retired rocker is promoting his single “Christmas” to benefit his four-legged friends just in time for the holidays. Proceeds from the single’s sale on iTunes and Amazon benefit the Beagle Freedom Project. A music video of Howe’s latest project is also available on YouTube.

The single, which sells for about 99 cents, conjures thoughts of holidays past while its video reminds just how much four-legged companions can become an important part of the family.

Howe wrote the song about four years ago after a lonely Christmas, the News-Press reported.

“The song just came from trying to imagine how some people during Christmas end up alone,” Howe told the paper.
