What’s Open, Closed In Manatee County On Christmas 2022

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — As Manatee County residents prepare to celebrate Christmas this weekend, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services to keep in mind this holiday weekend.

Manatee County government offices: All offices are closed Friday and Monday.

Garbage and recycling: There will be no changes to garbage, yard waste and recycling pick-up for residents of unincorporated Manatee County. The Lena Road Landfill will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

Manatee County Area Transit: All MCAT buses will stop running at 3 p.m. on Saturday, while the Anna Maria Island Trolley will stop running at 7 p.m. There will be no fixed route, Handy Bus or Longboat Key Shuttle service on Sunday. The Anna Maria Trolley will run regular service on Sunday.

G.T. Bray Recreation Center: Closed Saturday and Sunday and open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday. The recreation center and fitness center will be closed for HVAC repairs on Monday and there will be no group exercise classes. The Walton Racquet Court will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday.

Manatee County Public Schools: Schools are closed for winter break through Jan. 10.

Manatee County Public Libraries: Closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Manatee County Animal Welfare: Operations will be closed to the public Saturday and Sunday. The Bishop Animal Shelter will be open Monday from noon to 3 p.m. The Palmetto Adoption Center and Cat Town will be open Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Manatee County Parks, Preserves and Beaches: Open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek golf courses will be closed Sunday.

Manatee County Clerk’s Office: Closed Monday.

Bradenton City Hall and other city offices: Closed Monday.

City of Bradenton trash collection: There will be no change in garbage and yard waste collection because of the holiday.
