What's Open, What's Closed On Labor Day?

MANATEE COUNTY, FL – While you enjoy a labor-free Labor Day – with the exception of maybe tossing a couple of steaks on the grill – here’s a list of what will be open and what will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3.

Retail Stores

Never fear. You’ll be able to run to Publix, Walmart, Target, Fresh Market or Sprouts for that forgotten bottle of mustard on Labor Day. Most national retail chains will be open on Labor Day although hours may vary.

Manatee County Government

Manatee County government offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 3.

Trash, recycling and yard waste collections for the week will be postponed one day from Tuesday through Saturday for residents in unincorporated Manatee.

Manatee County Area Transit, Longboat Key Shuttle and Handy Bus operations will be suspended on Labor Day. The Anna Maria Island Trolley and Beach Express will operate on Labor Day.

Manatee County parks, preserves and beaches will be open to the public. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open. G.T. Bray Recreation Center facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3. G.T. Bray Skate Park will be open.

Central Library, the only county library normally open on Mondays, will be closed.

City of Bradenton

City of Bradenton offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Trash pickup will be delayed by one day. Monday’s garbage, recycle and yard waste will be picked up on Tuesday. Tuesday’s garbage and yard waste will be picked up on Wednesday. Tuesday’s recycle routes remain unchanged.
