Worker Trapped In Sewage Trench Rescued In Manatee County: Fire Rescue
A subcontractor working on a residential sewage line off Moccasin Wallow Road was rescued after becoming trapped in a trench, HCFR said.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A subcontractor working on a residential sewage line in a neighborhood being built off Moccasin Wallow Road was rescued hours after getting trapped in a trench Wednesday night, authorities said.
The man tried to work himself out of the trench for more than an hour, eventually realizing he needed assistance, according to a Hillsborough County Fire Rescue news release.
Local agencies, including East Manatee Fire Rescue, North River Fire District, Bradenton Fire Department, Parrish Fire District and Manatee County EMS, initially responded to the scene.

When these first responders realized they needed more specialized assistance, the state authorized HCFR’s technical rescue team to deploy to the scene around 8:30 p.m.
Crews worked together for more than five hours to free the victim, HCFR said. He was brought to Tampa General Hospital by Aeromed in stable condition.
