Chili's Cook Canned Over Shirtless Photos

The story of a Valrico cook’s firing after posting shirtless photos of himself in the Valrico Chili’s kitchen has gone viral.

Justin J Speekz posted the shots of himself topless in the kitchen under the label “Sexy Cooks of Chili’s.” While the stunt didn’t appear to violate any Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation standards since no food was being prepared as Speekz posed, USA Today said it cost the man his job.

The pictures show Speekz wearing a kitchen apron, a backwards ball cap and jeans, but no shirt. His heavily tattooed arms are visible. In one, he’s laying down on a food prep table, but food isn’t part of the picture.

Chili’s confirmed the firing in a statement that said the national chain “does not encourage this type of behavior in our restaurants. We maintain very high standards of food quality, safety and cleanliness and took immediate steps to ensure the restaurant continues to follow these requirements,” The Tampa Tribune reported.

Speekz lives in Brandon and it appears he’s also a rapper. Some samples of his work are available on SoundCloud.com.
