BRANDON, Fla. (April 16, 2026) –D1 Training, a leading fitness enrichment concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, will be opening a new location in Brandon at 1915 W Lumsden Rd. on April 25. The new group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.
To celebrate the opening, Brandon residents are invited to attend a grand opening event featuring youth and adult training sessions, free performance assessments, facility tours, meet-the-coach opportunities, and free giveaways from local business partners, offering families a firsthand look at D1’s unique training environment.
D1 Training Brandon is locally owned and operated by Dennis and Camilla Santa Paula, who join a growing roster of D1 franchise owners nationwide, including former professional and collegiate athletes. The brand is also supported by partners such as NBA star Chris Paul and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.
Dennis Santa Paula is a veteran financial professional, lifelong athlete and competitive endurance sports enthusiast who recognized a growing need for structured, high-quality performance training in the Brandon and greater Tampa Bay community. As a father of two young boys, he was drawn to D1 Training’s focus on proper movement, injury prevention, and long-term athletic development. Camilla Santa Paula is a real estate professional and community-focused entrepreneur with deep ties to families throughout the Tampa Bay area. Through her work with local homeowners, parents, and young athletes, she plays a key role in building strong community relationships and helping D1 Training Brandon become a trusted local resource.
Together, the Santa Paulas were inspired by D1’s science-based training model, emphasis on character development, and commitment to helping people of all ages become stronger, healthier, and more confidentboth on and off the field.
“Brandon has so many kids playing sports, but very few places focused on teaching proper strength, movement, and agility from an early age,” said Dennis Santa Paula. “As parents and athletes, we believe that building a strong foundation helps prevent injuries, improves performance, and supports an active lifestyle for years to come. D1 provides that structure in a way that’s safe, effective, and motivating.”
D1 Training offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers group, semi-private, and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or fitness goals, regardless of age, or athletic background.
D1 Training Brandon is expected to create 10 new local jobs, including coaching and operations roles, and will serve as a hub for youth development, adult fitness, and community engagement throughout Brandon and the greater Tampa Bay area.
“Dennis and Camilla are the ideal candidate to bring the D1 Training experience to Brandon,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Murphy. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to the D1 family and are confident in their ability to show the Brandon area what they’ve been missing out on. D1 is a one-of-a-kind fitness experience that’s built around the individual and meant to help people meet their athletic goals. Our strong network of franchisees embodies our core values to bring the D1 Training vision to life, and we know Dennis will do just that in Brandon and its surrounding communities.”

The brand is currently seeking financially qualified business builders, former athletes, and entrepreneurs, who share a passion for fitness and youth sports, who are ready to make a positive impact on their community.
