Human Trafficking Victim Rescued By Deputies
Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies say a woman was being held at a U.S. 301 motel against her will.

Tampa, FL — A 30-year-old Orlando man faces a number of charges after Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say he forced a woman to commit acts of prostitution.
Brandon Jackson’s arrest was announced Tuesday evening following a sheriff’s office investigation into alleged prostitution at the La Quinta Inn, 4811 U.S. 301 N. Deputies say they found a 32-year-old woman at the hotel around 2:10 p.m. who was being “forced to commit acts of prostitution while being held by Brandon Jackson against her will.”

Deputies found Jackson inside a locked bathroom with a loaded .380 semiautomatic pistol, the agency wrote in an email to media. When deputies searched the room, they also found 190 grams of marijuana, the email said.

Jackson was charged with human sex trafficking, false imprisonment, felon in possession of a firearm, domestic violence battery and possession of marijuana. He was being held in the Hillsborough County Jail Wednesday without bond.

Jackson listed his home address as Orlando on jail records.
Human trafficking is an ongoing concern in the Tampa Bay area. A Pasco County man was charged in a similar case back in May. In that case, however, the man arrested was accused of having multiple victims.
