Man Wore French Maid Costume to Meet Prostitute, Deputies Say
The Florida man also arrived on a bicycle and was just one of 95 people charged during a five-day sting.

LAKELAND, FL – A 68-year-old Lakeland man donned a French maid costume and chastity belt under street clothing and rode a bicycle to meet up with a prostitute. Once there, he asked to be “dominated.”
That’s according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, whose deputies gladly obliged but not in the way the man likely anticipated. The man’s call girl as it turned out was an undercover detective who charged him with solicitation of prostitution following their brief encounter.
The Home Depot employee rode his bike to the meet up, deputies noted, due to a DUI arrest. He also had three priors for soliciting prostitution and has faced three petty theft charges, the sheriff’s office announced in a media release.

David Marsh was just one of 95 people charged during a five-day undercover crackdown on prostitution that took place in Polk County between Dec. 9 and Dec. 13. Those arrested ranged in age from 15 to 68. One woman accused of prostitution was driven to an appointment with a john, the sheriff’s office said, by her live-in boyfriend. The couple’s 2-year-old child was in the car.

Four of the prostitution arrestees also happened to be identical twins. Both sets of twins arrived to their appointments together. A high school teacher was also caught up in the net, authorities said.
Operation Naughty Not Nice involved both male and female undercover detectives. The female detectives posted phony ads online to meet up with johns while the males answered ads posted by others, the sheriff’s office said. In all, three types of suspects were arrested:
- Those who responded to the fictitious ads
- Those who placed ads offering their services
- Associates of the above two who happened to show up with them while managing to give deputies probable cause
“We’ve seen firsthand the negative social costs of how prostitution hurts families, children, and communities,” Sheriff Grady Judd said following the operation’s conclusion. “And more often than not, there is a high correlation between other crimes and prostitution. We see repeat criminal offenders with criminal arrest histories to include illegal drugs, violent crime, and property crime, and these repeat criminal offenders engage in sex for money. There is also a direct nexus between prostitution and human trafficking, and we are committed to identifying victims of human trafficking and getting them into programs and out of lives of crime.”
The sheriff’s office reported these figures related to the 95 people arrested:
- 50 were prostitutes
- 33 were johns
- 12 were arrested on related charges
- 17 said they were married
- 25 said they were on public assistance
- Only 28 were Polk County residents
Other arrestees came from all over Florida, including Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, and other states, such as Ohio, Delaware and Massachusetts.
