The event, tied to National Senior Center Month, highlighted active aging with cultural costumes, formalwear, interviews, and multiple award categories, and is part of a broader slate of programs keeping Brandon-area seniors engaged and social.
   

• Habitat Hands Keys To Two Families At Windhorst Commons (ospreyobserver.com) — Two single mothers just received keys to their new Habitat for Humanity homes in the Windhorst Commons neighborhood in Brandon, a major step toward stability for their families. Supported by Strategic Property Partners and Habitat's CEO Build, the project is part of a 23-home, hurricane-resilient community scheduled for completion by early 2027, expanding affordable homeownership opportunities in Brandon.
   

• Hillsborough County food pantry struggles to feed families after delivery truck breaks down (tampabay28.com) — A Brandon food pantry, Three B's Ministry, has had to sharply cut back distributions after its delivery truck broke down, limiting help for more than 200 families it typically serves each week. The nonprofit urgently needs a diesel mechanic or donor support to repair or replace the truck so it can resume full food pickups from area food banks and keep Brandon families fed.
