Plucky Kitten Survives 5-Mile Ride in Wheel Well
The critter was rescued by a Lakeland firefighter.
Bryson may have used up more than one of his nine lives on Monday morning.
His adventurous story began when a Lakeland man walked outside of his home to take his children to school. As he approached his car, he heard the kitten’s meow. The man looked around, but just couldn’t find the source, the Lakeland Fire Department told Patch.
Assuming the kitten had moved on, the man proceeded to drive almost five miles to the school. Once there, he heard the critter’s cries once more. The man called 911 and was told to take his car to a garage to see if the cat could be removed from the vehicle, the department noted in an email.

Not in love with that idea, he drove to nearby Lakeland Fire Station No. 2 instead.
That’s when firefighter/paramedic Daniel Ivancevich got involved. The firefighter started looking for the kitten, trying to coax it out of hiding. When it moved in the wheel well, Ivancevich was able to pull it to safety, the department said.

The tiny kitten was brought to the SPCA for care and was named Bryson.
The fire department said he checks out just fine and is expected to go home with an adoptive family soon.
