Reward Rises to $18,500 in Missing Bay Area Woman Case

Apryl Foster disappeared last week from Ybor City.

As the search for a missing Brandon woman enters its second week, the reward being offered for information in the case has climbed.

The Tampa Police Department has announced the total reward now stands at $18,500 for information that leads to Apryl Foster or her car’s whereabouts. The money comes from a variety of sources, including $10,000 from the Gonzmart family, who own Ulele restaurant where Foster works. The rest includes $4,000 from Premier Beverage, $2,500 from the law firm of de la Grana, $1,000 from Foster’s parents and $1,000 from an unnamed private citizen.

The 33-year-old trainer at Ulele was last seen around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 12 after she left a bar in Ybor City. Police have scoured surveillance cameras in the area and have been able to release new photos as a result. They also say Foster’s car was caught on camera turning east from 18th Street onto 7th Avenue, but they can’t tell who was driving.

While police have found no evidence of foul play, Foster’s disappearance is out of character, making detectives concerned about her safety, an email to media from the department stated.

Foster, the department stated, typically texts or calls her mother at least once daily, but hasn’t had contact with her since Feb. 11 and friends haven’t heard from her either.

“She also wouldn’t leave her cats this long without care,” police wrote in the email. “She is a trainer at Ulele and is known for her work ethic and has never missed work without calling.”

Police say they’ve interviewed Apryl’s friends, family, her estranged husband, boyfriend and others who came in contact with her Thursday morning. All, they noted, have been cooperative with the investigation.

Anyone with information about Apryl Foster’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS or the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130.

Foster may be driving a 2009 red Chevy Aveo hatchback with Florida tag number K125YC. The car has a Huskers front plate.
