Spring breakers spending some time at Florida’s Walt Disney World got a bonus airshow with a ticket purchase Thursday courtesy of the Blue Angels’ decision to do a Magic Kingdom flyover.
While the airspace above the Orlando area attraction is considered a no-fly zone, the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron got a pass for the brief appearance, the Orlando Sentinel reported. It seems the Magic Kingdom flyover was part of a planned photo shoot for the heralded Blue Angels, the paper reported.

The Navy’s stunt squadron is appearing at this weekend’s Melbourne Air and Space show, Wesh.com reported. The Angels are the headliners for the two-day air event that takes place at Melbourne International Airport. Demonstrations are also anticipated from U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps pilots. The Geico Skytypers are among the civilian acts on the schedule, according to the event’s website.

While Melbourne’s air show takes to the skies this weekend, Tampa’s own MacDill AirFest has been grounded for 2015. Citing financial concerns, organizers announced last year the show would not likely take place again until 2016 at the earliest. It seems an estimated $250,000 is required to get a show of its scope off the ground.
