Hurricane Season Means Preparation; Lacking Preparation Means Wind Damage or Water Damage or Restoration

What I don't see is what to do once we are the unfortunate one who has water damage to our home, now what! Okay, I prepared, I was hit...now what?

Preparing for the worse is what we should be doing in hurricane season, but frequently we don't prepare, and it results in devastation to families from the wind damage, water damage, or worse ... complete restoration of the home.

We've all seen the pictures on the news.  The shocked family member, the roof gone, the standing water, the soaked furniture, wet walls, saturated carpet and we are watching thinking “Oh my, that poor family ...”

While I have seen a number of articles, news stories, blogs, etc. tell us all how to prepare, What I don't see is what to do once we are the unfortunate one who has water damage happen to our home!  Okay, I prepared, I was hit...now what?  The process is brutal if you don't have someone on your side.   The insurance companies are out to pay out of pocket as little as they can, the contractors want to do as little as possible, and I want my home back to the way it was before the devastation happened.  So what do I do?   Who can I trust?

I found a company that has great integrity, does above and beyond, and stands with me when the insurance company wants to pay as little as possible.  That is NextGen Restoration.  The values of the company are to protect ME...the client.  They dry out my home in the densest parts of the home, the corners.  That little place, I learned that is jam packed with building materials and hardest to dry as well as longest to dry.  But if I do it right the first time, mold will not grow there.  Dry out the home wrong and mold will grow in places that water damage occurred, was left in the wood and wasn't dried properly.

The sad thing is that while most insurance companies know you have to dry your home out, they think that the magic number is three days.  hmmmm....let me see.... I was soaked from ceiling to floor and they "think" it only takes three days!!  Excuse me, but show me the data!!  Someone else's property may have only taken three days, but I don't care about them.  I care about my home and me.  NextGen showed me reports -  hard data that shows me when my home was dry not guessed at it.  Water damage is hard enough, I don't want mold to come into my home and everyone get sick!

I also don’t want my home put back together like a patchwork quilt.  When all is said and done, I want it to be restored back to matching wood, matching cabinets, matching carpet! To contact the company, call (813) 962-6855.

They also did an inventory and preparation for me.  They cataloged my belongings so if my home was ever hit again, I was more prepared to recoup from my insurance company rather than trying to find all that documentation after I am already stressed. You can get a checklist from NextGen, an inventory assessment, hurricane preparation, or restoring your home after water damage to get you back on the road to healthy safe home.
