It's Not Always A Numbers Game
Are you only concerned with more fans, followers, likes and subscribers? You should also be measuring the quality of those fans!

No, I am not talking about the NFL, gambling or math (definitely not about math). I am talking about Social Media.
I have seen many times when someone wants to have a LOT of followers on Twitter, a LOT of "likes" on Facebook page, a LOT of subscribers to their YouTube channel and blog. But - pay attention here - are they good followers, likers and subscribers? What I mean is this. It's nice to have a LOT of all of those but are they quality engagements? Do they comment, do they need your services, do they go to your website? AND if not, what can you do about it?
Which came first? Quality or quantity? Certainly having a large number of fans looks good and helps to attract more fans. I'm not saying that big numbers aren't good. I am saying that big numbers aren't the only thing. You can have a ton of fans who never engage in any way. Not so good. Conversely, you can have fewer fans who do converse, who do share about you and your product, who do go to your website and ultimately hire you or your company.

So how should you measure? I say look at your engagement as opposed to your numbers soley. Kinda like seeing the way your clothes fit as opposed to the weight you may be losing. Check your analytics to your website. Are you driving traffic to it from your social media platforms? Is your business phone ringing more than usual? Have you seen an uptick in business lately? All of these things could be attributed to your engagement on your social sites? Most obviously, do you see comments, likes, shares and retweets of your posts, videos and blog?
If so, you're doing something that works and on the right path! If not, then you need to reassess your strategy...do you have a strategy?
