Jonas Brothers: Are They Still ‘Hot’ with Your Teens?

The trio has announced a Tampa stop on its summer tour – a first for the brothers in three years. That has us wondering: Are these guys are still "in" with your tweens and teens?

Back in 2010 there was no question that an announcement of a Jonas Brothers’ Tampa stop was a big deal.

After all, Nick, Joe and Kevin were at the top of their game with hits like “Love Bug,” “Got Me Going Crazy” and “Hey Baby” “Burnin’ Up” the charts. They even broke hearts on their own television show and guest appearances on others.

Tears flowed harder than the rain when flooding forced the brothers to cancel their Sept. 8, 2010, tour date at what was then known as the 1-800-ASK-GARY Amphitheatre in Tampa.

Why would I know about or even remember that?

No, I’m not a huge fan, but as it turns out my daughter was and she was there for her 11th birthday.

To me, it seems like just yesterday that my sister-in-law called to say she had picked up tickets for my daughter’s birthday and would be taking her and her cousins to the big show. In kid time, however, 2010 was “forever” ago.

My daughter has since moved on from the “Jo Bros” to a One Direction obsession with a little bit of this and that on the side.

Still, the Jonas Brothers’ recent release of the single “Pom Poms” – their first together since 2009 – raises the question of whether or not these guys still have “it?”

They’re coming to the Live Nation Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds Aug. 3, according to their website. No ticket prices have been released yet, but The Tampa Tribune says sales start for fan club members April 9 and go on sale on Livenation.com April 13.

“This tour is about re-connecting with our amazing fans, who have waited patiently for three years to hear new music from us,” the band said in a news release.

So, here’s my question for you: Have your teens been waiting “patiently” for the Jo Bros to perform again or do they say they’re are out in favor of Bieber Fever, 1D dreams or another act? Let us know by commenting below!
