TOWN N' COUNTRY, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in a drive-by shooting that took place at Sheldon Road and Waters Avenue March 23. Christopher Mendez, 28, of 6408 Town N' Country Blvd., Tampa, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana. A man sustained a gunshot wound after someone riding in a black Cadillac SUV fired multiple shots at his vehicle while it was stopped at the intersection of Sheldon and Waters around 2:30 a.m. March 23 <a href="https://patch.com/florida/carrollwood/lanes-sheldon-waters-intersection-closed-following-shooting" target="_blank" rel="noopener">(see related story).</a> The victim had just left Dagwood's Sports Tavern, 8458 Sheldon Road, where he'd gotten into a fight with another man.
