Art Center Shutterbugs Kick Off New Season with Macro Photography Presentation

The Art Center Shutterbugs will launch their new season on Monday, September 14, at 6 p.m. with an engaging presentation on Macro Photography by club member Jay Dooley. Whether you’re new to photography or an experienced photographer, this informative program will offer valuable tips and techniques for capturing the intricate beauty of the world up close.

In addition to the monthly club meetings, the Shutterbugs are introducing a new educational series this season. On the third Monday of each month, members will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on Adobe Lightroom Classic workshops led by club members Larry Munne and Ken Voegele. The workshops will build on one another throughout the season, allowing participants to learn Lightroom Classic one section at a time. Attendees should bring a laptop with Lightroom Classic already installed and an active Lightroom Classic subscription.

Club members can also look forward to a full calendar of photography adventures with monthly field trips to destinations including Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, Cedar Key, the Tampa Riverwalk, and other scenic locations throughout Florida. These outings provide opportunities to practice new skills, explore a variety of photographic subjects, and enjoy the fellowship of fellow photographers.

The season will also feature participation in five Nature Coast art/photography exhibitions, culminating in the Second Annual “Celebrating the Art of Photography” Exhibition and Celebration in May in recognition of National Photography Month.

The Art Center Shutterbugs meet on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m., from September through June, at the Art Center of Citrus County, 2644 N. Annapolis Ave., Hernando. Photographers of all experience levels are invited to attend, learn new techniques, exchange ideas, and share their passion for photography.
