2 People Rescued After Boat Explosion And Fire In Tampa Bay
Two boaters were forced to jump off a 20-foot boat following an explosion that caused the boat to catch fire Sunday evening in Tampa Bay.
CLEARWATER, FL — Two boaters were forced to jump off a 20-foot boat following an explosion that caused the boat to catch fire Sunday evening in Tampa Bay.
Paramedics with Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department, along with the Safety Harbor Fire Department, Clearwater Police, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Coast Guard responded to the scene.
Firefighters used a fire boat equipped with a heavy-duty spray to douse the flames.

The boaters were taken to shore by a nearby boater where they were treated by Clearwater paramedics and taken to the hospital. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
