Clearwater Police say the 31-year-old man found dead Monday at a local hotel was murdered.

A 43-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after Clearwater Police say he killed another man in a room at the Gulf Beach Inn.
Police responded to the 415 Coronado Drive hotel around 6:42 p.m. Monday. There they found the body of Steven M. Davis, 31. When they arrived, there was another person in the room that was brought in for questioning.
That person, Scott Matthew Kirby, has since been charged with second-degree murder. Police say he is responsible for Davis’ death. Davis was found inside Room 205 with extensive physical damage to his body.
