CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater police are seeking the person responsible for painting graffiti around the city more than two dozen times over the past two months.

The graffiti artist has been spray-painting the word "hero" on various buildings along Hercules Avenue, Sunset Point Road, Belcher Road, U.S. 19 and Countryside Boulevard.

Police managed to capture a long-distance, fuzzy image of the graffiti artist on surveillance video.

He is described as a thin white man who wears a backpack and baseball hat.

"If you know of a skinny guy who walks around at night with a backpack that might have cans of spray paint in it, let us know," said the Clearwater Police Department on its social media pages. Call 727-562-4242.
