CLEARWATER, FL — A 15-month-old girl is in critical condition after being found floating in a backyard pool.

Clearwater Police were called to a home in the 1900 block of Douglas Avenue Monday at 8:20 p.m. Family members and friends were in the pool area when they went into the house to prepare for dinner. In the process, a rear sliding-glass door leading to the enclosed pool was inadvertently left open just enough for the toddler to slip through.

The toddler's 7-year-old sister found her and removed her from the water. Family members began CPR and called 911.
