Cops: Woman Masterminded Fatal Robbery From Behind Bars
An 82-year-old man was killed in his Clearwater home.

A fifth person charged in the slaying of an elderly Clearwater man during a robbery gone bad in January was miles away at the time the crime happened.
In fact, Bianca Spera, 30, was locked up, behind bars at the Lowell Correctional Institute, a state women’s prison in Ocala. Despite her incarceration following conviction on fraud and felony driving-related charges, Clearwater Police say Spera coordinated the crime that would ultimately lead to Allen Usher’s death from her jail cell.
A grand jury heard the tale surrounding Usher’s death at his 20000 U.S. 19 N. home in the Southgate Mobile Home Park last week, police announced in an email to media. That jury returned with an indictment for first-degree murder against Spera.

“From her spot behind bars, she was involved in the coordination of the crime,” police wrote in an email to media. “She learned from another inmate at the prison, a former acquaintance of
Usher’s, that Usher might be an easy target for a robbery.”

Spera is accused of telling others about that easy target, giving them Usher’s name, address and details about what they could find inside the elderly man’s home.
Usher was shot and killed during the resulting robbery on Jan. 9.
Four other people also face first-degree murder charges in the case. Excel Lawson, Alex Richardson, Jonathan Nelson and Gaetano Spera, Bianca’s half-brother, were all charged in February.
All five arrested in the case are from Hernando County.
Bianca Spera was sentenced on the original charges that sent her to Lowell on Sept. 26, 2014. Her sentence was one year and a day, according to prison records.
