Clearwater Firefighter Injured In Blaze OK

CLEARWATER, FL — A Clearwater firefighter injured during a blaze that broke out at Twin Lakes Mobile Home Park on Gulf to Bay Boulevard Wednesday afternoon has been released from the hospital, officials say.

According to the agency, the fire at 2419 Gulf to Bay Blvd. was reported just before 4 p.m. The blaze broke out in a home nearest to the Druid Road section of the park.

“One firefighter was injured while fighting the fire and has been taken to Morton Plant Hospital for treatment,” an email from the agency said. “He was injured while conducting a primary search for any victims inside.”

Clearwater Fire & Rescue announced at 7:43 p.m. Wednesday that firefighter Chris Nelson had been released from the hospital after being treated for his injuries.

No one was inside the home when the fire began.

No further information is available at this time. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
