Florida Citrus Country launches "Christmas for the Kids" Giving Tree
M.O.M.'s "Christmas for the Kids" Giving Tree at Florida Citrus Country in Clearwater has the wish lists of 40 children in Pinellas County
Mothers of Minors, Inc. is excited to announce the enthusiastic support of M.O.M.’s “Christmas for the Kids” by Tina Lee, owner of Florida Citrus Country located at 301 South Belcher Road in Clearwater, Florida. Being a “Mother of Minors” herself and with a generous heart to give back to her community, she has set up a Giving Tree in her store with the wish lists of 40 out of the 116 children who have sent their requests to M.O.M. for Christmas. The public is encouraged to drop in to their store and select a child to sponsor, you can find the wish lists online as well. Gifts that are purchased for the children’s wish lists can then be returned to Florida Citrus Country by December 15th for M.O.M. to pick up for their planned MOM Family Christmas Party with all of the families who have requested assistance for Christmas.
The creation of Florida Citrus Country was a merger of old Florida Families. W.C. and Nancy Lee and their son Dempsey and his wife Christina Lee are families who believe in the value of quality fruits and vegetables. The Lees have been involved in the Florida citrus industry since the early 1900s. The history of citrus groves and packing houses has been a part of the Lee family for over eighty years. The Lee family has their own Florida historical labels such as the Yellow Kid, Gasparilla, Love-Lee, War Bonnet and Beauty. These Florida citrus labels are just to name a few. They are family owned and operated. Their store offers a wide variety of locally produced products and unique gift items for the entire family.
“Our team of volunteers is greatly appreciative of all of our community supporters,” stated Andrea Clark, Founder and President of Mothers of Minors, Inc. “ During a recent interview, I was challenged by Tony “TK” King of the Midday Cafe on AM 1150 WTMP to expand our goal to assist more families with the opportunity to have their children’s wishes fulfilled and we are so blessed by the enthusiastic support of small business owners, individuals and community leaders like the King and the Lee families.”
