It's SyFy Friday again this Friday June 29 in downtown Clearwater with a SyFy art walk! More than 10 local Downtown Clearwater restaurants and art shops will host the Art Walk with a curated art exhibit open to the public from 6 to 9 p.m. All participating locations will have food and drink specials, so put your party thetan on and come Party Arty! This is just a small part of a Gasparilla style series of celebrations that lead up to the SyFy Friday September 28 super boat reenactment of Sea Org’s fleet of ships arrival in Clearwater in 1975 and the beginning of Project Normandy to invade the city. Many have compared these SyFy Friday events to the fun filled Gasparilla festivities that surround the pirate Jose Gaspar’s invasion of Tampa. So see art and be art by dressing as your favorite intergalactic traveler (or any other fiction fantasy character) and enjoy the revelry of fellow space artist. Pick up the Downtown Clearwater Art Walk Passports by visiting Second Century Studios, 331 Cleveland St., Suite A, get your passport stamped and enter a raffle to win a stay at a Clearwater Beach hotel. Then have a drink and get clear at Clear Sky. Party starts at 6:00. Free sunset at 8:32 sharp. Nanu, Nanu!
